Is taking acid reflux medication the best option to take? For short term relief maybe, but for long term relief – certainly not.

3. H2 Blockers – These work similar to PPI’s but they are often prescribed to people who have severe or chronic forms of GERD acid reflux. They work by blocking the part of the parietal cells called the histamine H2 receptors and can reduce as much as 60% of the stomachs acid production. Known side effects include headaches, diarrhoea, low energy and skin rashes.

Sleeping position – if you suffer acid reflux at night, it is highly likely your lying horizontally flat on the bed. In this position gastric acid can easily flow into the esophagus, especially if you have an over relaxed LES.
